Kieskompas BV (Electoral Compass) is a spin-off of the VU University of Amsterdam, founded by Dr. Andre Krouwel and private partners. Kieskompas BV helps people make more responsible choices, based on scientifically proven methods. Kieskompas develops web applications that allow the process of making choices to become more simple and transparent, both to voters and to consumers.

Unique selling point
Members of the general public are confronted with increasingly complex choices. It is not always clear to them which choice fits best with their own preferences. In the Kieskompas enterprise, science and entrepreneurship go hand in hand. The academic community of the VU University of Amsterdam guarantees innovative solutions and products. Current stage of the company
For the 2006 parliamentary elections in the Netherlands, Kieskompas developed an application to help voters discover which party manifesto fitted best with their own political preferences. This successful start – resulting in over three million unique visitors and a multimedia journalism award – was soon followed up by many other new projects, as can be seen on its website. Among these are the current USA presidential elections. Kieskompas also offers solutions for various other societal themes:
