Wanders’ group Genetic Metabolic Diseases specializes in a number of disorders, among which those related to peroxisome biosynthesis. Other departments within the AMC, such as the Departments of Clinical Genetics, Neurogenetics and Biochemistry also aim to participate in the new company structure. Currently, the unique AMC tests are not actively promoted abroad. Foreign applications are received by the different departments which each have to deal with the logistics and financials separately. By combining all AMC's diagnostic services for foreign institutes and bringing them under responsibility of such a new company, creating a website through which applications can be made electronically, and providing a central system for handling the invoices, we aim to make the whole process more efficient. And then marketing efforts can lead to an increase in specialized diagnostic testing for international applicants.
